There’s no way to comprehend the global magnitude of the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re confident that we will come out of this with immense strength and gratitude. As we adjust to change, Herrington on the Bay wants to remind you that we are still here. 

Since the implementation of stay-at-home orders by Gov. Hogan, we have innovated new ways to keep you safe, including the creation of our food delivery service, Herrington at Home. Herrington on the Bay has and will always continue to abide by a strict sanitation procedure, as recommended by the CDC and Restaurant Association, to ensure the safety of our guests and staff.  We are adding contactless sanitation at each entrance and exit of our venues, sanitizing every table and chair between events, and sanitizing our restrooms routinely throughout events. All of our managers are ServSafe certified, and we’ve implemented mandatory handwashing every hour, along with the addition of personal sanitizers provided by Herrington on the Bay.

Here are some other things we’ve considered and changed in an effort to acclimate to our new normal.

Socially Distant Seating

We’re lucky to share a massive estate at Herrington on the Bay. With such expansive property, we are able to host events of all sizes, from large weddings to corporate events and birthday celebrations. There’s no party that’s too big for Herrington, including the wedding of your dreams.

Our outdoor wedding venues are perfect for socially distant gatherings. Not only will you get fresh air, but your guests can also sit six feet (or more) apart. We also offer tent structures for outdoor events which will perfectly accommodate groups of all sizes and remain compliant with official socialization orders. Of course, we will monitor any changes to the CDC’s guidelines, and we recommend that you and your guests are vigilant about monitoring your health status in the weeks prior to your event.

Air Purification

Securing your safety means that we have to stay ahead of technological advancements. We’re installing UV lighting and air purifiers in our venues to ensure extreme safety. We’re entering some of the most beautiful seasons for the Chesapeake Bay, making weather ideal for outdoor events. And in the event that we need to take your event indoors, our spaces are just as safe and beautiful. We want you and your guests to enjoy this day smiling and in good health.

Live Wedding Streams

Some of your guests may not be able to attend your wedding, especially those at higher health risk. Luckily, technology helps to keep us more connected than ever! Through our optional Live Streaming service, we’ll stream your wedding live via your choice of video streaming service. Zoom, Google Hangout, and other video chatting services have made connecting in our era of social distancing a lot easier. Your family and friends deserve to see you no matter where they are.
