Beaches

North Beach

North Beach, or “The Jewel of the Chesapeake Bay”, is one of the Bay’s premiere beach towns featuring a wonderful boardwalk, art galleries, novelty shops, bike rentals, and an array of restaurants among other amenities. Enjoy this classic, coastal town with family and friends of all ages.

Chesapeake Beach

Experience some of the area’s incredible history at Chesapeake Beach. With the help of historical preservationists, the town converted its railway station into a museum that commemorates the Chesapeake Bay Resort, built in the late 19th century.

Bay Front Park (Brownie’s Beach)

If you’re looking for a more intimate beach experience, visit Bayfront Park located one-half mile south of Chesapeake Beach on the Chesapeake Bay’s western shore. This hideaway is easy to miss and therefore occupied mostly by locals. Bring your own food and drinks to this relatively private beach for a cozier, quieter experience.

Breezy Point Beach and Campground

Breezy Point is a seasonal beach and campground located in Calvert County. With opportunities to fish, camp, and enjoy the water, Breezy Point is the perfect location for guests with young children. Space is sometimes limited during summer holidays and weekends, so make sure to arrive early and carpool with your entire party to secure a parking spot.

Calvert Brewing

Calvert Brewing Company is one of Maryland's largest and most established craft breweries. They are committed to brewing a range of quality beers, offering the people of Maryland an option to fit all tastes and situations, whether you're new to craft or the most seasoned craft beer drinker.

Jail Break Brewing

Premiering in 2014, Jailbreak Brewing Company is a 16,000 square foot brewing facility featuring carefully crafted and unique beers. Take advantage of their taproom tour every day of the week where you can sample beer and learn about Jailbreak’s brewing process. Children are also permitted on the premises until 7PM, so you can make it a family affair!

US Naval Academy

The U.S. Naval Academy is one of the country’s most reputed historical sites as the only undergraduate academy for our Navy. But it’s also one of the state’s most beautiful sites. Visitors are welcome to a guided, walking tour of the Academy with professional, certified Naval Academy guides through the Armel-Leftwich Visitor Center.

Maryland State House

The Maryland State House is the oldest state capitol in continuous legislative use and is the only state house ever to have served as the nation's capitol. The State House is open to the public every day from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., except Christmas and New Years Day. To help make your visit to the Maryland State House more enjoyable, and to provide you with an understanding of its rich and historic past, self-guided tour information is available in the Office of Interpretation on the first floor.

Schooner Woodwind Annapolis Sailing Cruises

Experience these two beautiful, wooden, 74-foot schooners, Woodwind and Woodwind II, for a true sailing experience in Annapolis, Maryland.Located in the heart of the Chesapeake Bay, Annapolis is “America’s Sailing Capital.” Help raise the sails, steer the boat, or simply sit back and relax as Woodwind sails from the historic Annapolis waterfront, past the Naval Academy and cruises into the Chesapeake Bay. Schooner Woodwind offers team building cruises, private cruises, and sailing races to interested visitors.

William Paca House & Gardens

This five-part Georgian mansion was built in the 1760s by William Paca, one of Maryland’s four Signers of the Declaration of Independence and the state’s third Governor. Carefully restored by Historic Annapolis beginning in 1965, today it is recognized as one of the finest 18th-century homes in the country and a National Historic Landmark. Guided tours of the house, which features period furnishings and paintings, reveal the inner workings of an upper-class household in colonial and revolutionary Annapolis.

Lake Presidential Golf Club

The 18-hole, par-72, 7,230-yard layout meanders through heavily wooded terrain and rich, natural expanses. Entertaining green complexes, handsomely groomed playing surfaces, white-sand bunkers and picturesque streams round out the excitement. In addition to the 18-hole championship golf course, the club also offers an 11,000 square-foot clubhouse with full-service pro shop & luxury locker rooms and a full-service restaurant with indoor & outdoor dining overlooking the 30-acre Lake Presidential.

Eat Chesapeake

This locally owned and operated Chesapeake Bay themed restaurant offers delicious, homemade food in a comfortable and friendly setting. A hometown favorite! With three locations in Bowie, Dunkirk and North Beach, you have plenty of opportunities to enjoy their food during your adventures around the Chesapeake Bay.

Sweet Sue's Bakeshop

Sweet Sue’s Bakeshop is located on the corner of 7th and Bay Avenue in North Beach. With an amazing view of the bay and freshly made baked goods, it’s the ultimate spot to relax. Sweet Sue’s offers a variety of breakfast and lunch food, including breakfast sandwiches and muffins, wraps, deli sandwiches and soups. Their dessert options include cookies, brownies, cake, and their famous eclairs!

Trader’s Seafood Steak & Ale

Family owned and operated, Traders Seafood Steak & Ale has been a local favorite for years. Traders provides friendly, casual dining along the Chesapeake Bay and offers a large menu specializing in freshly caught, local seafood. Along with the local favorites, Traders has a wide variety of steaks and homemade entrees. Such as homemade crab cakes and crab imperial.

Skipper’s Pier

Skipper’s Pier is a gorgeous, waterfront restaurant serving local seafood and creative American fare with homemade desserts. Enjoy this expansive menu and dinner with a view. As a hub of incredible seafood, you're sure to enjoy some of Maryland's best seafood at Skipper's Pier.

Dockside Restaurant and Sports Bar

Located on Rockhold Creek in Tracy's Landing Maryland, Dockside is open seven days a week, serving lunch and dinner every day. They offer indoor seating year round and outdoor dining in the spring and summer. Go enjoy the game, some delicious food, and the best view in Maryland. It’s hard to beat this outdoor dining experience.

Happy Harbor

Located 20 miles east of Washington D.C., Thanksgiving Farm offers their exclusive, European-style dry wines made from grapes grown in their own vineyards. Doug and Maureen Heimbuch, Thanksgiving Farm’s proprietors, grape growers and winemakers, offer an intimate wine tasting for small parties at their well-established vineyard. Enjoy their uniquely crafted creation with a loved one or small group of wine-lovers.

The Vineyards at Dodon

Dodon offers two styles of tastings: a Collector’s Tasting & Tour and an Introductory Tasting & Tour. Enjoy a comprehensive, well-curated tasting experience with these wine tastemakers. With 16 acres of vineyard, Dodon has perfected their craft despite the difficulties of their local climate. Enjoy an elegant experience at one of Maryland’s most reputable wineries.

Fridays Creek Winery
